Please introduce yourself/ tell us a bit about your background

Hi, my name is Bénédicte and I’m the founder of French Kiss Studio, a French sustainable label and multi-brand concept based in Copenhagen.

I am also a Creative Marketing & E-commerce consultant. I work with cool brands to help them bring their projects to life and support them while defining their strategy.

I was born and raised in France, near Paris but moved around a lot when I started studying. I have lived in Canada, Belgium, Germany and now Denmark. I think when you start moving around, it’s hard to stop…

How did everything start?

After studying Business and Marketing, I first started working for international companies throughout Europe followed by start-ups during their launch phase and early expansion phase. This is what confirmed my love for entrepreneurship. And I finally launched French Kiss Studio in 2018, before moving to Copenhagen. The feeling of building something on your own is just the best!

I have always loved a great basic with a twist, which is why I decided to create cool unisex t-shirts and sweatshirts made of sustainable and organic materials illustrated by myself. Everything is made-to-order to stay as zero-waste as possible. We literally have no stock and I'm very proud of it!

On top of this, I love looking for brands with talented founders that you don’t find on every corner, products coming from abroad that are not very accessible. I want to nurture individuality by offering a different range of products!

Can you share with us the most challenging moments of your business' journey and the most rewarding?

Is not really a moment but more the act of being consistant and resilient. It’s about what you do every day!

And also, the feeling of having to re-learn everything when starting your own business, everything is new and you have to be prepared for it.

The most rewarding moment is when I see cool people wearing my collection or just saying they feel inspired by the concept.

When you have a vision about a certain brand, it’s the best when people can relate!

What are your plans for the future?

I am currently working on our next collection which will only be produced on a pre-order basis to keep our zero-waste policy and only produce what is ordered but in a more exclusive way and to be able to offer new styles on a regular basis. And of course, still sustainable!

New brands will also soon join the store, and stay tuned for pop-ups and amazing collaborations coming up!

My plan is to incorporate more physical events for sure!

What is your favorite travel destination?

This is a hard one… I would say, California, Canada, Paris and England. But there are so many destinations still on my list! I would love to visit Japan some time soon!
